Dan Evertsz

Daniel Evetsz is a strong advocate of financial education. He states that “there is one common pattern in Americans: Most people don’t have their affairs in order when it comes to saving unnecessary taxes for retirement and are not even aware of it”. And when it comes to paying for college for their children or grandchildren, some tap into their retirement savings – which is a big no go!  Using retirement savings can postpone their dreams of retirement for another 5 to 10 years into the future. But – all of this could be avoided had they gone through a systematic tax and retirement review.

Dan has helped individuals to retire with ease – and sleep well at night knowing they have a solid plan in place. His classes answer questions that you might not even know you have! Dan believes that everyone should ensure that they are on track to retire with a comfortable tax-advantaged nest egg in place, and financial education is the key to ensuring that goal.

Jeff Panik

Jeff knows one of the most valuable roles he plays is to help clients strike a balance between financial obligations and true happiness. Jeff founded On Point Tax Group, LLC with a simple goal in mind: to create tailored plans for intentional living. Jeff recognizes that for people to reach their goals, financial education is key. He finds that his time in the classroom is key to helping individuals define those goals.

After graduating from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA—the first in his family to attend college—Jeff enlisted in the US Army in a program that paid off his student loans. Jeff admits his lack of financial literacy prior to entering the Army was a catalyst for his current career path. While his professional degree was focused on finance and psychology, his time in Korea at the Joint Security Area at Panmunjom and later at Fort Bragg, NC, provided fertile ground for experience in understanding and pursuing what truly matters.

Though Jeff grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania, he has lived in the Atlanta area for 20 years. Jeff and his wife Rebecca, currently live in Brookhaven with their family. When he isn’t working with clients, Jeff enjoys spending time with family, travel, reading, and all types of athletics.

Canaan Penland

Canaan Penland educates investors and retirees on how to maximize the value and security of their retirement assets and long-term income plans. He states that “Being a financial advisor is not a matter of telling people how to invest but listening to their concerns and circumstances and educating them on the best available options.” Canaan strongly agrees with the sentiment of one of the most successful pioneers of global investing in that the four most dangerous words of investing are “this time it’s different.” No truer statement has ever been made about Wall Street. The only thing that you can consistently rely on in the financial markets is inconsistency. As a financial educator and advisor, Canaan has witnessed individuals repeatedly make the exact same mistakes as they near retirement, frequently leading to a negative impact on their retirement outlook.

Now residing in Southern California, Canaan is originally from Virginia, where he graduated summa cum laude with honors from Roanoke College with a concentration in finance. His interests in the financial markets and portfolio design began well before becoming an advisor, with years of experience in complex market research and the development of securities analysis software.

Canaan is very passionate about educating others on the modern financial system and the influence significant market volatility has had on investment decisions and retirement income planning. “There must be a great deal of understanding and confidence between the advisor and the client. It is a partnership…” says Mr. Penland. “The long-standing theory of ‘buy and hold’ has become ‘buy and hope’ with little understanding of the risks involved. Hope should never be part of an investment strategy and certainly not a retirement plan.” As a member of COFE he greatly enjoys educating individuals, couples, and business owners on the best options available, adding superior value and security to their financial future.

Investment advisory services offered through Brookstone Capital Management, LLC (BCM), a registered investment advisor. BCM and Greenline Associates are independent of each other. Insurance products and services are not offered through BCM but are offered and sold through individually licensed and appointed agents.

Thomas Penland

Thomas Penland says, “Financial peace of mind comes from good decisions and good decisions come from  financial education”. With 35+ years in the financial industry, he understands the importance of a solid financial foundation beginning with an optimized Social Security strategy.

After years of working for both large and small financial firms, everything came together for Thomas to start a full-service retirement planning firm designed around “safe” planning, one that provides peace of mind. January 2007 Greenline Associates was founded, as the antidote for traditional financial advising. The goal being to provide everything needed to maximize life in the retirement years. After laying the groundwork, building strategic partnerships and looking at the process and experience from the retiree’s point of view he has become one of Southern California’s most sought out advisors and educators.

As an RICP®, Retirement Income Certified Professional, Tom’s goal is to assist retirees and pre-retirees with unique strategies that will allow them to make the most of the assets they have so they don’t run out of money. He says, “retirement is not the time to get rich, it is the time to not lose.” His workshops offer an opportunity to ask new questions and to see a new and brighter path, one that leads to success.

He assumes nothing and addresses each person’s needs and goals as unique to them.

Jeff does community outreach educational programs with local colleges to help people understand retirement planning as well as educational workshops to let people know about various options that are available to them to maximize their social security benefits. When Jeff is not working with clients or delivering educational workshops, he is spending time with his lovely wife and daughter.
